Soccer

Soccer, known as football in most countries outside of North America, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net, which is typically guarded by a goalkeeper. Players primarily use their feet to control and kick the ball, but they can also use other parts of their bodies except for their arms and hands (with the exception of the goalkeeper). The game is played on a rectangular field, usually grass or artificial turf, with goals at each end.

Soccer is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and is the world’s most popular sport, with a vast following and numerous professional leagues and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a rich cultural phenomenon in many societies.
