Cosplay

Cosplay, a blend of the words “costume” and “play,” refers to the practice of dressing up in costumes and accessories to portray a specific character from a movie, book, video game, anime, manga, or other forms of media. Cosplayers often focus on replicating the character’s appearance, including clothing, makeup, and sometimes associated props, to embody that character during conventions, events, or photoshoots. This form of performance art allows individuals to express their fandom and creativity, as well as engage with a community of like-minded enthusiasts who share similar interests in various genres of entertainment. Cosplay can also involve crafting and sewing skills, as many cosplayers create their own costumes to achieve accuracy in their portrayal.
