Climate Change

Climate Change refers to significant and long-term alterations in global or regional climate patterns, particularly those related to temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other measures of climate. While it can occur naturally over geological timescales, the term is most commonly used to describe the current human-induced alterations in climate, primarily due to the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. The consequences of climate change include rising global temperatures, shifting weather patterns, increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, melting ice caps and glaciers, rising sea levels, and disruptions to ecosystems and biodiversity. These changes pose risks to human health, food security, water supply, and overall economic stability, making climate change a critical global challenge that demands urgent action and policy responses.
